Ravi did his debut with the movie JAYAM, from this time itself his name was prefixed by the movie’s name JAYAM, and he is known as jayam Ravi.
Ravi was born on 10th September 1980 in Salem, the steel city of India and this year he will attain 40 years. His father is of Islamic religion and mother is a practitioner of Hindu religion. Mohammed Jinnah Abdul Khader alias Mohan is a veteran Tamil film editor and Ravi is his son. Ravi’s mother is varalakshmi. Ravi has 2 siblings and His brother Mohan Raja, is a film director, and directed most of his brother’s movie. His sister Roja is a dentist. He did his schooling from Jawahar vidhyalaya, Chennai.
He broke the stereotype that only girls should learn Bharatnatyam. he even got training in classical dance from Nalini Balakrishnan and performed ARANGATREM at the age of 12. He did his degree in visual communication from Loyola college, Chennai. He decided to get into the film industry so he joined himself in Kishore Namit Kapur Institute, Mumbai. Initially, he was an assistant director then became an actor.
His debut movie was directed by his brother and edited by his father. He got complete assistance for his film career. He got married to AARTI daughter of the television producer Sujatha Vijayakumar in 2009. Now he has 2 sons’ aarav and Ayaan. HIS ELDER SON PLAYED A ROLE IN THE MOVIE TIK TIK TIK.
In young age, Ravi acted n two Telugu films. Then his debut movie JAAYam , was the remake of the Telugu movie of the same name. In 2004 he did the movie M. KUMARAN SON OF MAHALAKSHMI and won the Tamil Nadu state film award.
In 2015 he acted for the movie ROMEO JULIET, it’s a Tamil romantic movie which stars Hansika Motwani opposite to him . This made him win the most romantic actor of the year.
