She was born on 10th January 1985 in Mumbai but to a Gujarati family settled in Mumbai. Drashti is born and brought up in the same place. MARY IMMACULATE GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL.
She studied in this school. Drashti holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from MITHIBAI COLLEGE OF MUMBAI. She has a brother, JAYSHEEL DHAMI.
Drashti says that her family is very conventional which made her try the best out to convince her family for entering into this field. In the end, her cousin helped her do this . Which as a result drashti dhami is at a better stage.
Initially, Drashti started her career as a model. in various newspaper, magazines, and television commercial she was been selected as a model. After this, she acted in some album songs like HUM KO AJ KAL, SAIYAN DIL MEIN ANA RE, NACLE SONIYO TU.
Meanwhile this she shot some adverts like Colgate,lion honey,rks grand, Amul, VIP bags etc. In 2007 she finally got a chance in the soap opera DILL MILL GAYYE. this lasted for around 3 years.
Geet hui sabse pyari was her breakthrough. She got recognition with the main lead role. in 2012 she acted in the docudrama Madhubala, which shows the life of actress Madhubala. she did excellent work in this serial along with Vivian Dsena.
Besides acting, she is a dancer and participated in some reality shows. The sixth season of the Indian Massive reality Programme jhalak dikhla JAA was on her name. Her mentor was Salman Yusuf khan.
She uses to appear in a former Hindi channel dance show by choreographer Saroj khan, nachle with Saroj khan. She was the brand ambassador of canvironment support of 2011 and 2013.
