Drums Shivamani Biography, Age, Bio, DoB, Family, Height, Career, Show . SIVAMANI, also known with his stage name as DRUMS SIVAMANI. He is an acumen of drums, Octoban, darbuka,udukai, ghatam and kanjira. Mainly he is specialist and famous too in playing the drums. He was born on 1st December 1955 in madras now, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Lakshmi anandan and S M anandan are his parents.
He was married to krishanini sivamani and now he has wedlocked with Runa rizvi. The latter is the daughter of the ghazal singer RAJKUMAR RIZVI. She is also a playback singer. Sivamani has a son by name KUMARAN SIVAMANI.
He started to strive for his dream at the age of seven . Sivamani and the great A R Rahman were best friends since childhood. He was among them who formed a band under the leadership of A R Rahman. When Sivamani attained 11 he moved to the city of dreams of India MUMBAI. He has always spoken about his inspiration NOEL GRANT AND BILLY COBHAM.
In Mumbai he developed recognition for himself and worked for many composers and singers like ILLAYARAJ, VISWANATH, and A R RAHMAN. He always dreamt to share the stage with his ideal billy cobham and this finally became a slice of his life at a musical event in Mumbai. He considers s p Balasubramanian as his godfather. He collaborated with many singers like T. Rajendar,Zakir Hussain,Louis banks, and obviously with A R Rahman.
He assisted A R RAHAMAN in movies he composed music for which are rang de Basanti, Roja, Swades,taal, laagan,Dil se guru, rockstar and many more. Besides playing instruments he acted in 2 Telugu films which are PADAMATI SANDHYA RAGAM AND SIRIVENNELA. He has even collaborated with bands like Bombay dreams. His own band is with the name ASIA ELECTRIK. He was honoured with PADMA SHRI in the year 2019 for his extraordinary work in showcasing art.
