SARAVAN SIVAKUMAR, known by his screen name Suriya is an Indian film actor, producer and television representer, who work predominantly in Tamil industry. He is known as the Singham of Tamil cinemas. One cannot simply estimate his age with his personality. Suriya was born on 23 July 1975, Chennai. He is the son of the former Tamil actor Sivakumar and Lakshmi. He has 2 younger siblings one is sister brindha and brother who is also a south Indian film actor, KARTHI.

He studied in Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan and for secondary education ST. BEDE’S HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, CHENNAI.

He is a graduate from Loyola College, Chennai and did his degree in bachelors in commerce. In 2006 finally, he tied the knot with his beloved jyothika forever.

After completion of his studies, he started working in a garment’s export factory for nearly about eight months; to abolish the lineage of nepotism. He was first offered the role in the film AASAI. But because of apathy, he rejected it. Finally, in mani ratnam’s movie NERRUKU NER, he was first starred.
